"I live in North Kingstown Rhode Island, Wickford to be exact. Well, Wickford
was founded in 1626 and did not want Wal*Mart so close. There was a two year
battle and of course...you guessed it Wal*Mart won...but with quite a few
concessions. The North Kingstown store does not look like any Wal*Mart on
the planet. It is neat and clean and the sales people are very friendly. I
am very spoiled and have NOT found any Wal*Mart like this one. I wonder what
took place behind the scenes to make the Giant bend. Perhaps your homeowners
association could contact North Kingstown Chamber and found out how they got
them to compromise?"
