"Thank you so much for publishing your website. I don't know if you received my e-mail a couple of months ago about having a Super Wal-Mart in my back
yard (years after we purchased our home), but our problem was having to wake up at 3:30 a.m. every morning to the Wal-Mart parking lot sweeper. I had
tried for years to get a Wal-Mart manager to have the sweeping done at 5:30 a.m. instead of 3:30 a.m., which I think that 5:30 a.m. was pretty generous
request. All of the houses on the fence line of our subdivision would get awoken every morning at 3:30 a.m. After many, many telephone calls over the
years, trips to the store to confront the manager at 4: 00 a.m., telephone calls to the Codes Department, etc., I was at my wits end. I finally got on the
internet to find a contact at Wal-Mart headquarters in Bentonville, AR when I saw your website. I sent a letter via facsimile and certified mail to Cindy
Moehring, in Bentonville, AR, our Codes Department and the manager of our local Wal-Mart. I must say that I received many returned calls and the
problem has been resolved . . . so far. We'll see how it continues.
I am sorry that you didn't have the results that you wanted in your fight against Wal-Mart. I am hoping that things are better for you. However, I wanted you to know that the information that you displayed on your website helped us to overcome our problem. The sweeper now, at this time, starts at 5:30 a.m. We have a split level house and our deck is on the top floor. Where we saw a horse pasture with horses in it when we bought our house, we now see Super Wal-Mart and the parking lot. We have one of the biggest and prettiest houses in or neighborhood (all brick, no vinyl). It worries me because the second biggest house in our neighorbood (our next door neighbor) had to sell their house for $132,000.00! The buyer's main comcern was that Wal-Mart was in their backyard. Location, location, location. I love my home but I hope that when we are ready to sell, we will be able to do so without a problem. Thanks again." |
